Mr. Strauss was one of the first Allen High School students to receive free lessons (based on his raw talent) at the world famous "Baum School Of Art" (Allentown PA). He worked at "Mack Trucks" more than 40 years and continued painting up to his poor health in 1998. He painted more than 1,000 paintings. He painted some still life (about 50) but he loved to paint out door scenes with about 1/3 of them having animals or people in them. Only about 100 were sold by him in his life time. His Son, Daughter, 2 grand children and relatives acquired about 1/3 of his paintings the remainder were purchased by the Baum School prior to and after his death. The Baum School has sold some and rents out the remainder.
